Independence Day Celebration Report

The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Alice Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Boisar (W) on 15th August 2025.
The event began at 8:20 AM with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the National Anthem sung by the students and staff. The entire campus was beautifully decorated with tricolour flags, balloons, and posters reflecting the spirit of patriotism.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Darshan Sankhe, a Retired CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector, who graced the event with his presence and inspiring words. In his address, Mr. Sankhe shared his experience of serving the nation and reminded the students of their duty towards the country. His heartfelt speech instilled a strong sense of patriotism among everyone present.
Fr. Henery Pereira, the Manager of the college, spoke about the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and hard work in nation-building. His message encouraged the students to become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society.
Dr. Shweta Choudhari, the Principal of the college, welcomed the guests and addressed the gathering. She highlighted the achievements of the college and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee, staff, and students for making the event successful.
Various cultural performances, including patriotic songs, dances, and speeches, were presented by the students, adding colour and emotion to the celebration. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets.
The celebration was a grand success and served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the importance of preserving our independence through unity and dedication.
